Terms of Service
Last updated: June 5, 2026
1. Nature of the app
Essence Cut AI ("the app", "we", "us") is a desktop application that helps content creators turn long videos into short clips and publish them to their own social-media accounts. By downloading, installing or using the app, you ("the user") agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Acceptable use
The app lets each user connect and publish to their own social-media accounts (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook). Users are responsible for using each connected platform in accordance with that platform's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and for ensuring they have the rights to the content they upload.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Uploading or distributing copyrighted content the user does not own or have a license to use.
- Uploading content that violates the policies of TikTok, YouTube, Meta, or any other connected platform (hate speech, harassment, illegal content, CSAM, etc.).
- Using the app to spam, mass-post, or otherwise abuse a connected platform's API quotas.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source data from the app or our backend.
- Using the app or its associated APIs in a manner that violates applicable laws.
3. Content ownership
All videos imported into the app, all clips produced, and all captions generated remain the property of the user who created them. The app does not claim any right over the content it processes.
4. Third-party services
The app integrates with the official APIs of TikTok, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and YouTube for the sole purpose of publishing clips to accounts the user has explicitly connected. Use of these services is also governed by their respective terms, which the user agrees to in addition to these Terms:
- TikTok Terms of Service
- TikTok for Developers Terms of Service
- Meta Terms of Service
- Meta Platform Terms
- YouTube Terms of Service
- YouTube API Services Terms of Service
- Google Terms of Service
- Google Privacy Policy
By using YouTube features inside the app, the user explicitly agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledges the Google Privacy Policy.
5. No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind. We make no guarantee that the app will work without interruption, that uploads will always succeed, or that integrations with external platforms will remain functional if those platforms change their APIs.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the app. Each user is solely responsible for the content they publish through it and for any consequence of that publication on the target platform.
7. Termination
A user may stop using the app at any time by disconnecting all linked social accounts from the app's "Social Accounts" panel and uninstalling the app. We may terminate access for any user who breaches these Terms or whose behaviour violates the policies of a connected platform.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app on the next launch.
